“Prepeg” is the commonly used term for a reinforcement fabric – usually carbon or graphite fibres- which have been pre-impregnated with a resin system – usually Epoxy.
This resin system includes the appropriate curing agent. As a result, the prepeg is ready to be placed into the mold without the need of an additional resin.
A combination of pressure and heat is necessary for the laminate to complete the cure. These production processes are to be found in the automobile, wind power, sports, navel, and etc industries.
